Famous Fumane Finds On Show In Rome

The temporary modern art exhibition “VR60768 anthropomorphic figure” opens April 16 in Rome. Twenty works of the contemporary artist Andrea Benetti will be on show, along with copies of the two stones painted 40,000 years ago and found in Fumane Cave.
In the series of works that make up the show, Benetti’ s path backtracks through art history and cultural anthropology in an even more regressive tack – citing the very first forms of cave painting recorded in Italy and using a chromatic palette that is reduced to the very essential.
