PERMANENT EXHIBITION: The rock art exhibition

The exhibition can be visited before or after the guided tour of the replica. Information panels, audio-visuals and objects are displayed at the rock art exhibition in order to complete the visit. It is a fun and very visual way to enforce what is shown inside the cave.

Ekain Day Festivity -
Experience the Paleolithic at the Ekainberri Museum

Each Year the last Saturday of June

 

The cave Ekain was discovered June 8th 1969, and Ekainberri celebrates every year this day, organizing a nice festivity with several activities related to inhabitants of Ekain.

The citizens of the town of Zestoa collaborate with the museum to make it all possible: workshops, story tellings,… Bars and restaurants of the area offer special Paleolithic menus and tapas…

Schools and Teachers

Ekainberri runs a successful learning program about the Upper Paleolithic era with schools. The program contains several activities and each one has adapted to each learning cycle.
The experience of the kids that visit Ekainberri is extraordinary:

1. Interactive learning game: Before visiting the museum
They get information to work in the classroom. The museum has recently published an interactive learning game, which they work on before they visit Ekainberri (only available in Basque): More information

2. Guided tour to the museum and the Ekain adventure
After the guided tour throughout the museum they are tought how the Magdaleniens made fire, painted or hunted. And they get a chance to do some of the activities themselves.

Teachers get the complete learning program before hand (only available in Spanish or Basque).
