Plan your visit
The cave is open to the public after a protective structure of steel and fiberglass was made in 2005. Visitors can access the cave by a short footpath and remain in the cave entrance. It is possible to visit the prehistoric site also during the archaeological fieldwork, usually in August and September, and see the sections showing the finely layered Paleolithic sequence.
Not far away, in the village of Sant’Anna d’Alfaedo, a selection of the most relevant findings is permanently on show at the Paleontological and Archaeological Museum.
Hours
Every day of the year it is possible to visit the cave with a guide, booking beforehand. A minimum entrance fee is required. However in summer, from June to September, on Sunday and bank holiday afternoons there are guided visits to the site without prior booking, lasting about an hour.
Prehistoric themed workshops for schools or for families are also available and must be booked in advance.
